# Reference discipline: a reusable notebook for charts, health pages and poetry

**By Ali Gürtuna, founder of AGProLabs.** I build rule-based TradingView analytical tools and maintain two Turkish reference projects: AliGurtuna.com for health education and Babamın Şiir Defteri for poetry and literary reading. This is an owner-published, AI-assisted educational note. Links below lead to my own projects; they are not independent endorsements or evidence of a result.

A good reference note makes a later review possible. It should help another reader answer three questions: what did you open, what did you actually observe, and what part of the explanation did you add yourself? A pasted URL answers only the first question. A confident conclusion with no source answers none of them.

This notebook proposes a small writing discipline that can be reused across three very different subjects. Chart analysis needs reproducible context. Health education needs careful attention to a page's scope. Poetry needs room for personal interpretation without confusing that interpretation with the author's words. These activities share a need for clear attribution, but their conclusions are not interchangeable.

## 1. Give every observation an address

Start with the exact page you read. Keep the page title, the complete link and the date of the visit together. If a page contains an input form or a chart setting, record the visible configuration in words. Do not rely on a screenshot filename to explain the setup: a filename can be renamed, a cropped image can hide the timeframe, and a remembered setting is easy to confuse with a later experiment.

A source record is a pointer, not a certificate. A working link does not establish that an interpretation is correct or that the page will remain unchanged. It simply lets you return to the material and compare your note with the current version. When the content changes, preserve the date and explain the change rather than quietly rewriting the earlier observation as if it had always been obvious.

Use a short description in addition to the title. For example, “the guide I used to distinguish a live bar from a completed bar” is more informative than “useful trading article.” The first sentence tells a reviewer what question the source was supposed to address. The second only records your enthusiasm.

## 2. Make chart notes reproducible before judging them

### Five coordinates for an analytical observation

Record the symbol and data feed, chart timeframe, relevant time or bar, input configuration, and the rule being observed. These five coordinates are a practical description of the observation rather than a claim that all market conditions can be reduced to five fields. A different feed, a different timezone or an unfinished higher-timeframe bar can make an otherwise similar screenshot describe a different situation.

Write the rule before reviewing the later outcome. “I will mark a completed-bar observation when the displayed condition is present” is a rule that can be checked against a record. “This was a strong setup because the next move was large” uses later information to justify an earlier judgement. The second statement may describe a memorable example, but it does not document a prospective test.

Separate the tool's visible output from your interpretation of it. An output can be a label, a zone, a panel value or another display element. The interpretation is the meaning you assign after reading the surrounding context. Keep both statements in the note. If you only record the interpretation, it becomes difficult to tell whether the tool changed, your settings changed or your reasoning changed.

### A screenshot needs a caption

A useful chart caption records enough context for a reader to understand what is visible without guessing. Name the display element you are referring to, explain when the image was taken and identify anything intentionally hidden by the crop. If you compare two screenshots, explain what stayed fixed and what changed. Changing several inputs at once can produce an interesting picture while leaving the reason for the difference unclear.

Keep the original observation even when it becomes inconvenient. A later edit can add a correction or a limitation. It should not turn an uncertain note into a retrospectively perfect signal. The point of a review notebook is to preserve the reasoning that was available at the time, including the cases in which the expected context did not persist.

### Compare like with like

Before comparing two tools, state the question each is intended to support. A screening view, a chart-context tool and a channel-mapping tool do not become substitutes merely because they appear on the same chart. Read the relevant product page and its current explanation. Do not assume that a setting, alert or capability described for one product also exists in another.

A compact comparison table can use four columns: question, source page, visible output and remaining check. “Remaining check” is important because a dashboard observation does not by itself describe order execution, future price movement or the conditions under which a person would use it. This notebook does not evaluate profitability and contains no recommendation to enter, exit or size a position.

### Use a forward record rather than a highlight reel

A prospective record defines the rule and settings before the later result is known. Keep a consistent way of logging examples, including observations that are ordinary or difficult to interpret. If you revise a rule, give the revision a date or version and start a clearly labelled segment. Combining several versions under one label makes the record harder to interpret.

Do not treat a few attractive screenshots as a performance study. A historical example can explain how an interface was read; it cannot establish what a user would have experienced under every live condition. Trading involves risk. Analytical displays and educational documentation do not provide financial advice, certainty or guaranteed outcomes.

The AGProLabs reference routes below are grouped by purpose. Product-page links are included so readers can inspect the current descriptions directly. They are navigation references, not a claim that this note has tested or certified every listed product.

## 3. Keep health reading separate from a calculation

A health-information note should start with the question the page addresses and the limits the page states. Record the source, the date read and the wording of any relevant scope statement. Avoid turning a general educational paragraph into an instruction for a particular person's circumstances. A short note is more useful when it preserves uncertainty than when it fills gaps with an assumption.

For an online calculation, document the tool name, input labels, units and explanation before recording the displayed result. An input is not self-explanatory just because it accepts a number. A changed unit or a different definition can make two entries impossible to compare. If you do not understand what an input asks for, leave the interpretation unresolved rather than inserting a convenient value to obtain an answer.

Keep the reading note and the calculation record in separate sections. The reading note summarizes what the page says. The calculation record describes what was entered and what the interface displayed. Neither section should silently become a personal diagnosis or a treatment plan. This document supplies no medical formula, clinical threshold or individualized health recommendation.

A simple record might say: “I opened the named tool, read its explanation, recorded the labels and units, and noted the question I still could not answer from the page.” That is a description of a reading process. It does not require publishing anyone's measurements, symptoms or other private information. Do not put identifiable health information into a public notebook.

The AliGurtuna references include the site's editorial principles and medical-content limits alongside category and tool pages. Read the relevant page's current explanation directly. The links are included to make the source trail easy to follow, not to assert that a particular tool is suitable for every reader or every purpose. The purpose of this section is information organization; it is not a substitute for individual professional assessment.

## 4. Build a poetry notebook that remembers the source

A poetry reading note has a different job. It can preserve a personal response without pretending that the response is the only possible meaning. Keep the poet's name, the work being read, the page address and the date together. If the page includes an editor's commentary, distinguish that commentary from the poem and from your own response.

Use two passes. On the first pass, record a concrete feature you noticed: a repeated word, a pause, a shift of voice or an image. On the second pass, write what you think that feature contributes to your reading. The first statement describes what drew your attention. The second is your interpretation. A later reader should be able to disagree with the interpretation while still understanding the observation that prompted it.

Do not attribute a personal inference to the poet without evidence. “The change of voice made the closing lines feel more distant to me” describes a response. “The poet certainly intended distance” makes a claim about intention that the response alone does not establish. A notebook becomes richer when it can keep both the strength of a reaction and the limits of the available evidence.

An author index is a route to material, not a replacement for a work's text or its publication history. Record the exact work you actually read when you follow an author page. If a spelling, edition or attribution is uncertain, mark the uncertainty and return to the source. Do not make the reference look more precise than the material you inspected.

You can write a useful commonplace-book entry without reproducing a whole poem. Summarize your observation in your own words and link to the source. This guide does not reproduce poetry or claim to settle literary interpretation. The Babamın Şiir Defteri routes below provide an entry point to the archive, author pages and literary discussion; they do not imply that the authors endorsed this notebook or the other projects mentioned here.

## 5. A reusable blank note

| Field | What to record |
| --- | --- |
| Question | One question this visit was meant to address |
| Source | Page title and exact link |
| Context | Date, version, configuration or work, as relevant |
| Observation | What was visible or stated in the source |
| Interpretation | What you inferred, clearly in your own words |
| Unresolved point | What the source or observation did not establish |
| Review | What changed when you revisited the note |

Use only the fields that fit the subject. A poem has no trading input configuration; an analytical dashboard has no literary narrator. Reusing a note structure should improve attribution, not force unrelated disciplines into the same conclusions. Keep the note small enough to revisit and specific enough to audit.

## 6. Annotated source routes

These are my own project pages, selected as a practical navigation map. Their descriptions, availability and contents can change. Open the source relevant to your question rather than assuming that this directory reproduces the full explanation. The three projects have different subjects and should be read within their own stated scope.
