# mdfy for Mac — Quick Start

## Install

1. Download the DMG from [mdfy.cc/plugins](https://mdfy.cc/plugins)
2. Drag **mdfy.app** to Applications
3. Open mdfy — QuickLook extension is installed automatically

## Getting Started

### Open a file

- **Drag & drop** any .md file onto the app
- **File → Open** (Cmd+O)
- **Open Folder** (Cmd+Shift+O) to set a workspace

### Sidebar

The sidebar shows all your documents:

| Tab | Contents |
| --- | --- |
| ALL | Everything — local + synced + cloud |
| SYNCED | Local files linked to mdfy.cc |
| LOCAL | Unpublished local files |
| CLOUD | Documents on mdfy.cc (folders, drafts, shared) |

### Editing

- **Live mode** — WYSIWYG editing in the rendered preview
- **Split mode** — Source on left, preview on right
- **Source mode** — Raw Markdown with CodeMirror

Toggle with the **Live / Split / Source** buttons in the toolbar.

### Publish

1. Click the orange **Publish** button (top-right)
2. URL is generated and copied to clipboard
3. A `.mdfy.json` sidecar is created for sync

### Cloud Sync

- **Auto-sync** — changes push to mdfy.cc on save
- **Pull** — right-click a synced file → Pull from mdfy.cc
- **Conflicts** — visual diff view with merge options

### AI Tools

Select text in the editor, then use AI actions:

- **Polish** — improve writing quality
- **Summarize** — generate summary
- **Translate** — translate to any language
- **Ask AI** — describe edits in natural language

### Features

- Full WASM rendering engine (same as mdfy.cc)
- KaTeX math, Mermaid diagrams, 190+ language highlighting
- Document outline panel

## Login

Click **Sign In** at the bottom of the sidebar for:
