Text-to-video or image-to-video: which should you start with?

Both produce a clip. They differ in who decides the look.

Text-to-video invents the composition. Good when you have an idea but no visuals: a mood piece, a concept, a scene that does not exist yet. You trade control for imagination.

Image-to-video inherits yours. Good when the frame already matters: a product, a portrait, a brand illustration, a location photo. The model adds motion, not a new design.

Quick rule of thumb:

  • Nothing to show yet? Write a prompt.
  • Already have the shot? Animate it.
  • Need both? Generate a still with an image model, approve it, then animate that still.

The last route is easy when image and video live in one workspace with one credit balance. Vorapix works that way, and its AI video generator covers both entry points, from 480p drafts to 4K finals.

Vorapix is an independent AI studio; Kling, Seedance, Grok Imagine and Nano Banana are third-party models, and their makers are not affiliated with Vorapix.
