A first-hour audit of a competitor's Google ads

When a new competitor shows up, one focused hour tells you a lot. A simple order:

  1. Region first. Check the countries where the brand runs ads. A brand active in many markets plays a different game from one testing a single country.
  2. Status second. Compare active and inactive ads. Ads that stay active for a long time are worth reading closely.
  3. Media type third. Count video, image and text ads to see where the brand spends effort.
  4. Headlines last. Pull the most common words from the headlines and note the offers they repeat.

ADSoar puts these steps in one view and extracts the top 20 keywords from competitor ad headlines. The filters for region, date range, status and media type are on the Google Ads Library Pro page.
