Manifesto Section — "AI is a collaborator, not just a tool"
The mainstream AI memory model is: AI watches you, AI extracts what matters, AI re-injects it later. You're the data source. AI's the operator.
That model has its place. But it's not what every workflow wants. Sometimes I want to decide what to remember. Sometimes I want the AI to help me organize what I've decided to remember. That's collaboration, not extraction.
In mdfy:
- I author the document.
- I capture from any AI surface.
- I ask the AI to bundle related ones around a theme.
- I review what it picked.
- I edit annotations.
- I save the bundle as a URL.
AI's role: librarian + suggester. My role: author + decider.
Both of us, working on the same hub.
