# Keeping one character recognisable across a short series

A one-off AI clip can get away with a face that changes a little. A series cannot: viewers notice when the lead looks like a cousin of last week's lead.

Dual-reference anchoring is the tool for this. You upload two reference photos and the studio uses them to keep facial features and wardrobe consistent. Some habits that help:

- **Pick references once and reuse them.** Save the two photos in a folder named after the character and use the exact same pair every episode.
- **Choose complementary angles.** One straight-on portrait plus one three-quarter view gives the model more to hold on to than two near-identical shots.
- **Describe the outfit the same way.** Keep wording in the prompt stable from episode to episode.
- **Change the scene, not the person.** Vary location, light and camera path instead.
